Can I play a kalimba without any music experience?

Yes. The tines are numbered, so you play songs from number tabs instead of sheet music. Most people play their first melody the same evening.

Which kalimba should I choose first?

A 17-key kalimba in C major. It plays almost every simple melody and every tab you find online is written for it. The smaller 8 and 10-key models are lovely for children and as a pocket instrument.

Does it arrive in tune?

Every kalimba is tuned to C major. Shipping can shift a tine slightly. The tuning hammer that comes with it fixes that in a minute: tap a tine up to lower the pitch, down to raise it.

Wood or acrylic?

Wood sounds warm and soft. Acrylic sounds brighter and rings longer, and it looks great on a shelf.

How long does delivery take?
